Why Start With Sawing?

This mini-course is the perfect place to start if you want to dip your toes into the world of metalsmithing and start to familiarize yourself with some of the tools and techniques we'll be using in Metalsmithing 1. Before I had my full jeweler's setup, I made really fun, funky, unique pieces using only my jeweler's saw. I would cut interesting shapes out of metal and wire wrap beads, stones or ear wires onto those shapes. There's a lot you can do with just this one skill!

You can upgrade to Metalsmithing 1 at anytime, and apply the money you've already spent on the Mini-Course.

Hi! I'm Julie.

I started making jewelry when I was 10, and picked it back up years later, when I pursued my degree in metalsmithing at the Oregon College of Art and Craft. I was originally signed up to be a painting major, and after the first day of my metals class, I called my advisor and switched majors. I had found my medium.

I now have a jewelry business, creating designs Inspired by themes of magic, mystery, space and the ethereal realm, meant to empower the wearer to step into their authentic self.

I believe jewelry has the power to transform how you feel. Like when you put on your favorite ring or necklace, and you instantly feel more empowered, more embodied, and more like yourself.

And now I want to help you tap into that creative magic, and create your own unique jewelry.
